Action in Africa’s Nutrition Program

Every summer, Aspen gathers at Mawa’s Kitchen to celebrate community, culture, and the flavors of Africa. A Taste of Africa is Action in Africa's signature annual dinner, hosted by the incomparable Chef Mawa McQueen at the beloved Mawa's Kitchen.

But this night is about more than a great meal. It's about the students in Uganda who go to school on an empty stomach. The kids who stay for after-school programs because a warm cup of porridge is waiting for them. The communities who deserve clean water, safe spaces, and the simple dignity of a proper place to sit and share a meal together. Founder and Executive Director Sarah Nininger, alongside Uganda Country Director David Masiko, will share insights into our nutrition program and connect with guests throughout the evening.

When you buy a ticket or make a donation, you're doing something tangible to help us reach our event goal of raising $60,000.

Action in Africa has been working alongside communities in Uganda for 20 years — not for them, but with them. This dinner is how we bring that story home to Aspen, and how our community here shows up for our community there.

Join us for a night of great food, friends, and fun, all while supporting Action in Africa and the Nakuwadde community. Every seat at this table makes a difference.
