An update on our management of the Ebola epidemic

We’re so proud of our Action in Africa team’s management of the recent ebola outbreak in Uganda.

While Uganda experiences periodic outbreaks, the current situation with Ebola in Uganda is concerning. The country has cited a growing number of cases since the outbreak began on September 20.

At Action in Africa, we are monitoring the situation closely and have taken immediate steps to protect the health of our community, staff, and program participants.

Secondary Scholarship Stories of Hope: Meet Jordan, Swaburah, and Hakim

I visited Central College and Light Secondary School (my former school!) and interviewed three students who have been on the AIA Secondary Scholarship Program for the last six years! Our wonderful participants have been part of the program since 2016 when they joined secondary school; Jordan, Swabura, and Hakim are all senior six candidates who will be completing their final high school exams in the next two weeks.

The Pandemic and The AIA Scholarship Program

Empowering Nakuwadde: AIA's Professional Panel Inspires Dreams

Our greatest mission has always been and continues to be empowering the people of Nakuwadde. Our programs are tailored to be a reflection of the community and the people in that community. This year, we started an end-of-holiday program that we call the AIA professional panel. The one-day event invites role models and community icons that have backgrounds similar to those of the people living in Nakuwadde.As we ended the second term school holiday program on Friday 26th August, we hosted the second Professional Panel event at our center where we invited former AIA salsa dance trainer and current professional Dancer Valentino Richard Kabenge (Val), Dr. Elizabeth from Alive Medical services, Ivan Bossa a Coffee Entrepreneur, and TV personalist Ibrahim Kawuki commonly known as Teacher Teacher.
