Sam Eberts, Board Chair

Sam Eberts (chair) is a seasoned executive and board leader with over 25 years experience with companies in health care, consumer, and industrial services. He chairs Daerter Group, an advisory/venture firm in Chapel Hill and New York which he founded in 2013, focused on start-ups in health care. Sam is a Partner MS Healthcare Partners, a private equity group focused on healthcare investments, and a Senior Advisor to Invescore Ltd., an investment bank with offices in London, New York, and Riyadh.

Sam is also a Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke University Law teaching Law and Business Strategy. He recently retired as the Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Secretary and Senior Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs for LabCorp. Sam serves on multiple for profit and non-profit boards, including his current tenure as the Board Chair for Easter Seals/UCP of North Carolina and Virginia and as a Director and Secretary of RIPE - Rural Investment to Protect the Environment in Washington DC. He also serves on the Advisory Board for the WIlson Center, a non-partisan think tank in Washington DC. Sam is currently living in Chapel Hill, NC with his wife Angela.
