Julie Tripp, Communications and Development Associate

Julie (julie.tripp@actioninafrica.com) works with the Nakuwadde team through her role as Communications and Development Associate. She encourages the residents of Nakkuwade to voice their unique experiences first-hand, and uses her background in communications and journalism to help share their stories broadly.

Applying her Master’s Degree in Journalism from Harvard and fifteen years of experience as a reporter and communications and marketing specialist, Julie strives to increase the opportunities available to the women and children of Nakkuade. She feels strongly that Action in Africa, a locally-led organization, acts as a vehicle for positive change.

In her personal time, Julie enjoys hiking through Colorado’s wilderness, camping with her two kids and enormous puppy, reading memoirs, and writing—especially when she has a chance to give a voice to the voiceless.
