A Private Dinner to Support Education in Uganda
Many thanks to to our friends who attended an intimate dinner at Mawa’s Kitchen to support our community in Nakuwadde! The dinner was made possible thanks to incredible partners who embody the spirit of giving:
Tom Clark, owner of Clark’s Market, whose longtime support has helped us create life-changing opportunities for Ugandan students. His generosity continues to fuel programs that open doors for young people to learn, grow, and thrive.
Gigi Mondavi shared her exquisite wines from Mondavi Sisters' Collection, elevating the evening with thoughtful pairings and heartfelt stories about family and community—values that align beautifully with our mission.
And of course, Mawa McQueen (who’s also the force behind Crepe Therapy Cafe, and Mawa’s GrainFreeNola) welcomed us into her warm, elegant restaurant. The menu she created celebrated African culture, creativity, and, most importantly, connection.
We are deeply grateful to Tom, Gigi, Mawa, and everyone who joined us for making this gathering so meaningful. If you would like to host a similar event with Action in Africa as the backdrop, please email events@actioninafrica.com.
