AIA STORY-KI? (Meet Jamada)

(Story-Ki is a play on words in Luganda for “what is up?!”)

Who I am and what I will be doing.

Hey there! My name is Kalinda Jamada Musa. I will be writing all the cool blog posts and stories you will be seeing on the Action in Africa Blog page and in our newsletter. They will feature one on one interviews with students, staff, and the entire Action in Africa (AIA) community, especially those in Nakuwadde. I will also keep you updated on all the amazing AIA programs and activities that happen at our home - The Center.

My AIA story

I stumbled upon the AIA Library in Nakuwadde for the first time when I was only eleven in 2011 when my family had just moved to Nakuwadde. The experience was fascinating, especially seeing so many textbooks and a computer for the first time. But I only started religiously attending AIA programs in 2016 when I began taking ballet dance classes during the AIA After-school program. I then got passionately involved in the debate program where I went on to win the national championship 3 years later.

What I am currently up to.

Right now I am at University pursuing my undergraduate Law degree, I host my podcast called prime time with Jmkay, and I am a member of the Youth Advisory board of Amnesty International. Between all that, I still enjoy sitting in for an AIA event or program to write the stories of fellow young people who are being empowered to pursue their dreams by AIA like I was.

IT WOULD BE SUPER THRILLING TO HEAR YOUR VIEWS ABOUT OUR STORIES AND WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO WRITE ABOUT. COMMENT BELOW WITH WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO READ ABOUT FROM ACTION IN AFRICA.
