In 2018 we served 160,100 cups of porridge, that is a lot of full and happy bellies! Back to school time! A majority of primary and O’Level secondary students in Uganda just completed their first full week of classes for the 2019 school year! We are extremely excited for the four schools in our Primary Partnership Program to be back in session because Monday is their first day of programs at Action in Africa! As of Monday, Action in Africa is officially partnered with 4 local primary schools through our Primary Partnership Program. These schools use AIA’s classrooms and open spaces for interactive sessions such as creating writing, storytelling, drama, debates, PE Classes, art, spelling bees, dance and so much more. We are so proud to be a home away from home for so many kids to express themselves freely, to learn and to grow! . . . Meet Nakijjoba Rebecca! Rebecca is from Busabaala, Uganda and she’s Action in Africa’s Program Assistant. She’s responsible for organizing programs and ensuring they are up to date. Her favorite part of her job is interacting with other people and she would describe herself as, “ambitious, goal-oriented and an adaptive woman”, and we could not agree more!
