We hope that this finds you well and that 2021 is off to a great start for you! January 31st marked the SIX YEAR ANNIVERSARY of The Center's official opening. It's hard to believe that six years have passed so quickly, but here we are with much to celebrate! Thank you for being an integral part of Action In Africa, we've said it before but it bears repeating: your generosity makes our work possible!
With 2020 behind us we're excited to jump into our work and all the exciting projects and possibilities that come with the dawn of a new year. Yet before we launch into all our great plans let's take a peek at just how much we accomplished last year.
In Uganda, the year began with a five day teacher training program. AIA selected nine teachers who had been furloughed from our partner schools and invited them to The Center, where they participated in the Red Earth Teacher Training Program. Participants were guided through five training modules focused on cutting-edge educational methods with an emphasis on active and interactive strategies to use in the classroom. It is our hope that they can take what they learned and apply it to their classrooms when schools resume!
Beyond this wonderful continuing education training, 2021 is off to a solid start for the Action In Africa community. Schools are still closed but our staff remains committed to providing students with a distance-learning and wellness program that will keep their minds and bodies healthy and engaged during these challenging times.

This is a great way to support our work in Uganda and help a student practice her reading and writing skills. We are looking for students ages 13-21 to apply!
