Robinah Nandutu, Social Development Officer

Robinah joined the AIA staff as our Social Worker in 2020 and now additionally supports the development of one of AIA’s university students who is pursuing her degree in the field on top of her usual responsibilities. As Social Development Officer for the organization, Robinah supports our community members with much needed mental health support which has only become more important as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In her role, Robinah has developed a strong rapport with our partners in the community, including AIA partners, schools, and parents. She also conducts 1-on-1 counselling sessions for AIA community members and follows up with home visits as necessary and maintains confidential records of such sessions, informing AIA leadership as critical cases arise. Robinah will additionally lead workshops with teens and women in our community and helps to communicate AIA’s mission and dedication to child protection with the community. What Robinah loves most about her work is the opportunity to work with teenagers, students, and parents in the community and is passionate about enhancing the lives of people within the community by promoting mindset, attitude, and behavioral change while providing hope where she can.

Robinah holds a Bachelors in Social Work and Community Development and previously worked as a Project Officer for Habitat for Humanity before joining the AIA team.
