Maria Nalweyiso, Head Chef

Maria is the Head Chef at AIA where she is responsible for the cooking and preparation of meals served at The Center. In this role, Maria prepares daily lunches for AIA staff and supports the Porridge Program as well as assisting her colleagues in preparing food for special events and programs hosted at The Center. Maria is actually our neighbor at the Center and has been involved with programming for herself and her children since we opened our doors, but has served as Head Chef since 2016. What Maria loves most about working for AIA is her ability to achieve her personal and professional goals and where she gets to be around children, which she loves.

Maria attended Stenna Hill School Lukuli Nanganda and used to run a small shop where she sold phones and accessories. Outside of work, Maria loves to cook for herself and her family.
